Autograph Tower, the Tallest Building in Indonesia, Ready to Operate in 2021

The recently finished Autograph Tower in CBD Thamrin Nine, Central Jakarta is added to the list of the world’s highest skyscrapers. Towering at 382.9 meters, Autograph Tower is at rank 86 according to the Council on Tall Building and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) list of the world’s highest buildings, right above New York’s famous Empire State Building. According to Alvin Gozali, President Director of PT Putragaya Wahana, apart from in Indonesia, the Autograph Tower is also the tallest building in the south of the equator.
Autograph Tower that is developed by PT Putragaya Wahana, costs around IDR 8 trillion after an adjustment following the Covid-19 pandemic during the construction period, increasing greatly from the previous investment estimate of around IDR 7 trillion. Funding of the tower comes from various sources, ranging from bank loans to foreign direct investment (FDI) from Singapore, China, and Brunei Darussalam.
The tower that is said to be the new icon of Jakarta held its topping off ceremony in October 2020 and will be ready for handover in April 2021. Autograph Tower is said to be opened for the public six months after the handover, which is in October 2020. This tower is equipped with an Observation Tower and Sky Garden, as well as the 6-star Waldorf Astoria Hotel.
This mixed-use development occupies a premium and strategic location in Jalan Thamrin, which is located near TransJakarta bus station and is directly connected to the Integrated Moda Raya (MRT). In addition, Autograph Tower can also be accessible via the Commuter Line and Railink to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport via BNI City Station. Thamrin Nine CBD is claimed to be the main choice for office, residence, business, as well as other daily activities needed by metropolitan residents.
According to PT Putragaya Wahana Project Director, Herman Benjamin, Autograph Tower has received a platinum certificate from the BCA Green Mark since it is considered to put forward various environmentally friendly features that are not only good for the environment but also brings an optimal efficiency to its users.
“These environment-friendly features include green open areas, vertical gardens, water and waste treatment, bicycle parking, and architectural designs and features that are made in such a way as to maintain the internal temperature to save energy,” Herman explained.
Thamrin Nine Central Business District
Not only Autograph Tower, but Thamrin Nine complex also includes the five-star Pan Pacific Hotel, the 4-star Park Royal Hotel, and the Park Royal Serviced Suites located in the Luminary Tower.
Furthermore, there will also be a retail arcade or podium that connects the two towers, which will be used as a lifestyle centre that is equipped with various entertainment and lifestyle facilities, such as an amphitheatre, IMAX cinema, restaurants, bowling, billiards, and others.
Besides Autograph Tower and Luminary Tower, there will also be Le Parc which includes The Mansion, The Townhomes, and The Terraces Tower. This building contains a luxurious medium-rise residence with the concept of “Garden of Eden”.
PT Putragaya Wahana Project Director Herman Bunjamin revealed that the Autograph and Luminary were designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF). This architectural firm is well-known for their designs of the world’s iconic skyscrapers, including the Shanghai World Financial Center, the International Commerce Center Hong Kong, the Lotte World Tower Seoul, the Beijing Civic Tower, and One Vanderbilt New York.
Meanwhile, Le Parc was designed by WATG who also has numerous experiences designing luxury residences and hotels at the international level. Including The Venetian and The Mansion in Las Vegas, as well as several exclusive resorts by Shangri La, Four Seasons, Grand Hyatt, Ritz-Carlton, and other luxury brands.
